MJB61My name is Margaret Bloodgood and my picture is to the right.  Although that particular shot was taken in 1961, it is an accurate depiction of who I am now.

I am happy, curious, alert, excited, playful (that is a cat’s tail I am holding), and comfortable in my body.  I am in love with myself, and the world.  As Abraham Hicks has said “I [You] are Joy, looking for a way to express.” That is who I am – at my core, and my daily work is to know that, and to try to just be myself.

Some days I’m better at being aligned with myself than others, but for most of my life I didn’t even know who I was.  I’m very happy to be a work in progress, very happy to work on standing up inside myself, happy to be growing.

Body Liberation – the process of becoming fully aware of the importance and beauty of the physical part of oneself – has been a huge part of my growth and development, and I would like to share that process with you.  To help me do that, I’ve become a Life Coach, certified by Dr. Martha Beck, Bestselling Author, O Magazine Columnist, and for me personally, Spiritual Teacher #2.

OldM1This picture to the right shows the world I was living in 10 years ago.  I don’t miss it at all, but that world gave me what I felt I needed at the time, and without my time there, I wouldn’t be where I am now.  It’s not a very good picture, but it is one of only two I can find for a 25-year period of my life.  I hid from cameras, of course.  I still felt that my physical appearance defined me and my worth, and I could not bear to see how I was defined – to face how I defined myself.

These other pictures are me now.  Whether they are particularly flattering or not, I don’t know – nor does it matter.   I see me in them, and I am happy.
